PLEASE NOTE: We cannot ship live chickens.

We have roughly 80 chickens, including a few bantams. Our "big" chickens are golden-laced Wyandottes, barred Plymouth rocks, white Plymouth rocks, light brahmas, buff brahmas, speckled Sussex, black australorps, and Rhode Island reds.

At the 4-H County Fair in 2004, our speckled Sussex won first place in cockerel, pullet, and pen (2 pullets, 1 cockerel)--and the cockerel won the Rooster-Crowing Contest, crowing 19 times in 15 minutes! The award stayed in the family in 2005 as well, when our white Plymouth rock rooster won the Rooster-Crowing Contest!

We sometimes have chicks and older birds available for purchase, mixed or purebred varieties (please note that purebred varieties are very limited). Please contact us for more information.

In the spring we start with old-fashioned, natural breeds of chickens and provide them with antibiotic-free, natural grain. At three to four weeks of age, depending upon weather conditions, the chickens are moved outside to enjoy the grass and sunshine. This is not the cheapest way to raise chickens, but it is the healthiest for the birds, the consumers and the environment. The extra roosters are then processed in a USDA-inspected processing facility. We encourage you to contact us for more information about how your food is raised and processed or to visit our Product page for more information.
